A bit of my story...
I first fell in love with photography as a Junior High School student on the yearbook staff. But, photography isn't the path I chose as my profession. I've always loved technology, science and the physical world. Additionally, I felt a calling to serve in the military. I studied Systems Engineering and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southern California and then entered the Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. After serving 24 years around the world as a Space Weapons Officer, we retired to Colorado Springs.
My love for photography really grew while on the yearbook and newspaper staffs in high school (I was the Chief Sports Editor) and continued as a staff photographer at USC. Even though photography paid my bills for a short time in college, I put my camera down for many years while I focused on my Air Force career, wife and family. When my twin boys entered our family in 2003, I rekindled my connection to my camera. As they started playing sports, I fell in love with this art form all over again.
Our house is a bit quieter now that it's just the two of us again and my sons are starting their own careers. But photography remains a constant for me. I remember how fast their time in high school flew by and how much I treasure the memories and photos I took of my family, their teammates and their dedication to sports. Ultimately, my desire is to capture those moments and share them with current athletes, parents, and schools.
I greatly appreciate your photo purchases from my website, Maxpreps.com or Coloradopreps.com. I love giving a shoutout to the schools on social media, if you use my pictures for your posts I would appreciate a photo credit or shout out as well!
